TRAVELLING BY TRAIN THIS WEEKEND? THESE MOROCCO ROUTES WILL CHANGE

ONCF will temporarily alter airport, El Jadida, Settat, Safi, Khouribga and Al Atlas services on September 5 and 6, before wider changes begin on September 14.

Travel information checked on 1 September 2026 at 2:58 pm Morocco time.

If you are catching a flight or travelling to El Jadida, Settat, Safi or Khouribga this weekend, check your journey before leaving home.

Temporary changes will apply from 11:00 pm on Saturday, 5 September, until 11:00 pm on Sunday, 6 September. Some trains will be suspended, others will terminate early, and certain passengers will need to change to an Al Atlas service.

A separate and wider ONCF transport plan will then begin on 14 September, although its complete timetable has not yet been published.

MOROCCO TRAIN CHANGES: SEPTEMBER 5 AND 6 AT A GLANCE

Khouribga Trains terminate at Berrechid Change to an Al Atlas train Direction affected and onward connection
Al Atlas Delays or longer journeys possible Also serving redirected passengers Live departure and connection times

The changes do not affect every train in Morocco. Passengers should search for their exact train number and travel time.

WHY ARE THE TRAINS CHANGING?

The temporary measures are connected to construction of the future Kenitra-Marrakech high-speed rail line and work on conventional railway lines.

ONCF says the adjustments are needed so the projects can continue safely while the railway service remains available as far as possible.

This is not a national railway shutdown. The changes apply to named services during a specific 24-hour period.

AIRPORT PASSENGERS NEED TO CHECK FIRST

Casablanca airport train suspension and Supratours replacement coach information for September 2026

The train serving Casablanca Mohammed V Airport will be temporarily suspended during the works.

ONCF has announced replacement coaches operated by Supratours. However, the first announcement does not include a complete coach timetable, confirmed departure points, intermediate stops or reservation conditions.

Airport passengers should confirm:

Where the coach leaves

What time it departs

Whether it travels directly to the airport

Whether the train ticket is accepted

Whether a separate reservation is required

Do not assume the replacement coach will leave from the same place or at the same time as the suspended train.

Travellers should also compare the confirmed replacement journey with their airline’s check-in and boarding deadlines. No official standard time allowance has been announced.

EL JADIDA, SETTAT, SAFI AND KHOURIBGA

ONCF train changes affecting El Jadida, Settat, Safi and Khouribga on September 5 and 6 2026

El Jadida: Affected TNR trains will terminate at Bouskoura. Passengers continuing beyond that point will be directed towards Al Atlas trains. Check the transfer and onward departure.

Settat: The TNR Settat service will be suspended. Passengers will be redirected to Al Atlas services. This does not mean that every train serving Settat is cancelled.

Safi: The direct Safi-Casablanca train will not operate during the works period. ONCF’s initial statement does not provide a detailed replacement route, so passengers should check whether another official option has since been published.

Khouribga: Affected trains will terminate at Berrechid, where passengers can connect with Al Atlas services. Berrechid applies to Khouribga passengers. Bouskoura applies to the El Jadida arrangements.

ONCF has not said that connecting trains will wait for delayed passengers. Check both parts of any journey requiring a transfer.

AL ATLAS JOURNEYS MAY TAKE LONGER

Al Atlas train delays and longer journey times during Morocco rail works in September 2026

Al Atlas trains will continue carrying their usual passengers while also providing connections for travellers affected by some of the temporary changes.

ONCF says delays and adjusted journey times may occur. It has not said that every Al Atlas train will be delayed or announced a standard delay in minutes.

Check the live departure for your particular train, especially if you need to make another connection.

WHAT CHANGES FROM SEPTEMBER 14?

The weekend measures are separate from a wider transport plan beginning on 14 September 2026.
