Jaouda Tops Morocco’s Consumer Brand Ranking With 767 Million Reach Points

767 million consumer reach points. More than three times its nearest local competitor. Behind Morocco’s most-chosen domestic consumer goods brand stands COPAG, an agricultural cooperative founded in 1987.

Moroccan dairy brand Jaouda has retained its leading position among local fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) brands in the 2026 Brand Footprint ranking published by Worldpanel by Numerator.

Owned by Moroccan agricultural cooperative COPAG, Jaouda recorded 767 million Consumer Reach Points (CRPs), compared with 250 million for second-ranked Salim.

The metric estimates how often a brand is chosen by households, combining population, household penetration and purchasing frequency. It does not represent individual customers, sales volumes or revenue.

The findings place Jaouda at the forefront of Morocco's domestic consumer brands and offer a perspective on the commercial scale of the cooperative behind it.

A CLEAR LEAD IN MOROCCO’S CONSUMER MARKET

Jaouda heads a ranking that includes Salim, Colaimo, Albane and Jibal among Morocco's leading local FMCG brands.

Its score is more than three times that of Salim, highlighting the substantial difference in their measured consumer reach.

In the dairy sector, brand performance depends on more than recognition. Products must reach households consistently, remain competitive on price and encourage repeat purchasing.

The Brand Footprint results capture the combined effect of household reach and purchasing frequency, although they do not independently establish which factors explain Jaouda's advantage.

The ranking provides a useful indicator of consumer purchasing behaviour, rather than a direct measure of financial performance or profitability.

For Morocco's retailers and consumer goods producers, it underscores the importance of building brands that customers choose repeatedly.

THE BUSINESS MODEL BEHIND JAOUDA

Founded in 1987 in Morocco's Souss-Massa region, COPAG has developed an integrated agricultural and food-processing business.

Under President Moulay M'Hamed Loultiti and Director General Mounir Arous, the cooperative connects agricultural producers with manufacturing, product quality management, logistics and distribution.

Its operations include milk collection and processing, allowing the group to participate in several stages of the dairy supply chain.

This structure provides a framework for coordinating production and commercial distribution while maintaining links to Moroccan farmers and livestock producers.

For a consumer goods business, such integration can help align product supply with retailer requirements and changing consumer demand.

Jaouda's position in the Brand Footprint ranking illustrates the scale of the brand COPAG has developed, although the research does not isolate the contribution of the cooperative's operating model to its ranking.

LOCAL BRANDS HOLD THEIR GROUND

The wider Brand Footprint findings show the significance of Moroccan and regional brands in everyday consumer spending.

According to Worldpanel, local and regional brands account for 80% of Morocco's 250 leading FMCG brandsin the ranking.

The report also found that FMCG spending increased by 5.3% in 2025, compared with growth of 2.4% the previous year.

Of the 250 leading brands, 56% increased their Consumer Reach Points, reflecting gains in household penetration, purchasing frequency or a combination of both.

International groups remain important competitors. Danone leads the international-brand ranking, followed by Coca-Cola, Indomie, Danette and Knorr.

The findings point to a consumer market where domestic businesses have built substantial reach while competing alongside multinational companies.

For manufacturers and retailers, sustaining that position requires adapting product offerings and distribution to consumers' evolving purchasing habits.

FROM MOROCCAN HOUSEHOLDS TO AN INTERNATIONAL SHOWCASE

COPAG is also preparing to participate in SIAL Paris 2026, the international food exhibition scheduled for October 17–21.

The cooperative plans to present Jaouda, Jayda and COPAG Delight, showcasing its wider product portfolio to food-industry professionals.

The event offers an opportunity to meet prospective commercial partners and promote Moroccan food-production capabilities internationally. No new export agreements should be inferred from participation alone.

For COPAG, the immediate business challenge remains maintaining its strong domestic consumer position while identifying opportunities for further development.

Jaouda's ranking offers no direct indication of the cooperative's revenues, margins or market share. What it demonstrates is the frequency with which Moroccan households choose the brand within Worldpanel's measurement framework.

Jaouda's lead is measured in consumer choices. COPAG's achievement is building a Moroccan agricultural business whose products have become part of everyday shopping.
